Abstract
The purpose of this study is twofold. First, the effect of the social norms on the financial inclusion for women. This study aims to bring actionable insights that practitioners can use to strengthen women’s financial inclusion programming, so that they are better placed to target the gender gap more effectively, by incorporating a better understanding of gendered social norms into their strategies. Second, understanding and determining the barriers ( legal, social) of microfinance. These include methods of support and accountability for loan repayment, as well as whether microfinance can help alleviate poverty for Syrian women refugees and promote their empowerment in the host communities.
