Abstract
The general objective of this study is to examine the sustainable development goals (SDGs), and SDG#1 “No poverty” in Somalia. This study covers many topics ranging from poverty in Africa, in general, to Somalia, in particular, and the countries that are predominantly poor in the continent. I also focus on the agencies and countries that counter the poverty that decimated the nation and their efforts to reduce poverty in Somalia along with other partner NGOs. The study also explains the poverty alleviation programs and the measures undertaken by these countries and agencies to fight poverty. These programs include, building the public and private infrastructure of the country (e.g. constructing roads and highways), as well as investing in the public healthcare system, to name but a few.
